Ah, irises! It always takes me by surprise when they are blooming, especially because I always seem to forget to buy and plant bulbs for them. They are my mother's favorite flower. She has two large paintings of irises hanging in her cafe. I drew these quickly in my sketchbook as I waited while the boys walked their friend to his apartment door last night.
